It's often said that tiara's are for Princess and unless you are, of course, a Princess you do not wear a tiara. Pfffttt... who says you can't be a Princess for a day? If you opt for this little sparkler I think you'll feel like a Princess long after the wedding. At roughly AUD$328 it's a piece that will be passed down from generation to generation, making it a prized possession and will, no doubt, become sought after amongst the girls in the family. Now... start the search for your Prince! Available to purchase at www.net-a-porter.com.

Elizabeth Syer, our girl in the know in London, sent me an email this morning alerting me to these fab flats that are taking the UK scene by storm - Coco Rose. A great idea for brides wanting a bit of relief from mile-high heels towards the end of the reception. Specially designed with a split sole, they can be easily folded and tucked into the smallest of bags. They would make a gift idea for all the girls in the wedding party.
They come in a variety of colours, including white, for £35 + shipping to anywhere in the world.

It's always so devastating when you return home from a wedding, party or general good night out to find your favourite heels ruined from walking on grass and that nasty stuff - gravel. To see your fave shoes with tears, scuffs, dents; it's enough to make you cry. I'm so happy to share with you all a brand new product that arrived on my desk last week - Heel Huggers. Unique, discreet and so easy to use, Heel Huggers are clear plastic tubes that are placed over your heel and then blasted with the hairdryer to fix into place. How easy is that?! They're suitable for all materials and colours so now you won't have to suffer the dreaded shoe check the morning after. Relief! Heel Huggers (RRP$19.95) are by Original Sole so visit www.originalsole.com.au to find out your nearest stockist.

I'm a Kate Spade fan - I love their design sensibility - modern with a classic grounding. Found this stunning Flo for Fluorescent Multiple Bauble Necklace on their site today. At USD$495 this would sure add dazzle to a simple dress. All I have to do now is work out how to get it here. Overseas shopping services like Bongo International may just do the trick.

These Christian Louboutin strappy sandals are just too pretty. The question then remains - why would you want to have them hidden under a long dress? Short is the answer if you have these sandals on your pretty feet. I'm not convinced they'd be particularly comfortable for 5+ hours, however they are adorable. There's no real argument, is there?! Available to purchase online at www.net-a-porter.com.

Great news - wonderful in fact - my all-time favourite brand J Crew is soon to be available to British shoppers through net-a-porter.com. So why does that make me so happy I hear you ask ...they ship to Australia! They have an amazing range of beautiful wedding gowns, maid's dresses and adorable flowergirl/ring bearer outfits, not to mention the divine jewellery and accessories.
Shipping costs will be reasonably high so you'll have to figure that into your final tally but with exchange rates as good as they are at the moment, it can't happen soon enough for me. To learn more read The Guardian article here.

The lovely Jennifer Behr, headpiece extraordinaire, kindly let me know the gorgeous Maggie Gyllenhaal wore one of her super pretty headpieces to the Oscars this year. Maggie chose The Artmesia Tiara in Jet which was the perfect accessory to her hand painted Dries Van Noten gown. Loving the pink lippie too! Visit www.jenniferbehr.com to browse the collection or to buy this piece all for yourself.

For me the Academy Awards aren't just about the winners, they're more about the gorgeous gowns that get effortlessly paraded by a slick bunch of uber glamorous A-listers. This year I wasn't disappointed! Many stars strayed away from black, opting for romantic midnight blues. The softest of yellows, creams and golds were also popular thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Couture and Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock, who opted for one of my favourite designers Marchesa. Purple seemed to be the hot colour this season so it was no surprise to see it pop up all over the shop. Charlize Theron's custom made Christian Dior gown was a gorgeous shade, although I'm not huge fan of the bust detailing. I was pretty sure that spectacular Givenchy gown I blogged about a few weeks back would get a look in and fair enough Avatar star Zoe Saladina made it her pick. My favourite gown of the night by far! I'm madly in love with Miley Cyrus' Jenny Packham gown. Such a fabulous choice that would make the perfect wedding dress. A special mention has to go to Meryl Streep. Her Chris March gown was perfect. It was sexy, slick and so effortlessly chic. She was one of my favourites!

How cute is this neck cuff that I found on Etsy from Being of Love in Hong Kong. The La Nina choker is made from cream chiffon and tulle. At only USD$32 + postage it would make an affordable way to pretty up a simple dress.

I am so happy to have found these stunning necklaces from American designerElva Fields via the Shelter Interior Design blog. I absolutely adore them! Owner/designer Emily scours flea markets and auctions for unusual vintage and antique pieces and reconfigures them into beautiful jewellery. They would make such a statement with a simple, strapless wedding dress.

Elva Field necklaces would look gorgeous with a dress like this Lisa Ho number

Our avid blog readers will be well aware I have a little obsession with an online store called Net-A-Porter. It's not just some little obsession, it's a full blown love affair. I can't get enough of it! The most desireable and beautiful designer pieces are available at the click of a button, which makes life easy if you happen to live in Australia as some of stocked labels are a no-go zone for us, unfortunately. Pale pink and silver make such a pretty colour palette for any wedding. Often this colour palette is well suited to more formal affairs, however it could easily be adapted to suit a cocktail or at home party. There is an abundance of flowers available in soft pinks and almost everything these days comes in silver so you shouldn't have any trouble sourcing products to fit within your theme. I thought our Style Guide stationery Flora Aura and Crystalline fitted perfectly with my Polyvore! These pieces can be purchased from our online shop. Don't forget the guys either. A pale pink tie, soft silver/grey suit or a pale pink shirt can look quite dashing. Pink isn't just for the ladies!
