I have a thing for nice menswear. A fitted shirt and a well cut, modern suit in a suave shade and beautiful fabric can make all the difference in the man stakes. I've recently become a fan of the label Jack London. The modern label has a great mix of contemporary and hip pieces, as well as classic suits styles in modern cuts and great fabrics. Here's a sneak peak at their show from L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Loving the first suit. Steel grey is such a great and hip alternative to black. Pale pink and silver make such a pretty colour palette for any wedding. Often this colour palette is well suited to more formal affairs, however it could easily be adapted to suit a cocktail or at home party. There is an abundance of flowers available in soft pinks and almost everything these days comes in silver so you shouldn't have any trouble sourcing products to fit within your theme. I thought our Style Guide stationery Flora Aura and Crystalline fitted perfectly with my Polyvore! These pieces can be purchased from our online shop. Don't forget the guys either. A pale pink tie, soft silver/grey suit or a pale pink shirt can look quite dashing. Pink isn't just for the ladies!

Chanel is a label that always takes luxury that little step further with the use of exquisite fabrics, out of this world embellishments and gorgeous accessories. I adore the oversized bows in the hair! The soft yellow silk, dark jewels and use of layered tulle is oh so romantic! Secretely I'm digging the gold suit - crazy but super eye catching! Alexis Mabille mixed colours, even going for two-tone hair. Sheer fabrics were a key focus of her collection and are often very popular with brides. The sequined dress with sheer sleves oozed sexiness!

Textured fabrics, layering and bold colours seem to have been the key trends from the spring/summer 2010 Haute Couture shows. Yellows, purples, soft blues and neutrals were the most popular colours and are all colours that will translate very well to your spring/summer 2011/12 wardrobes. I know it seems ridiculous to be thinking about next summer when we haven't even escaped this one but knowledge is power, after all!

The boys do seem to get left out when it comes to accessorizing their wedding day outfit. Cufflinks are one way to add a bit of personality and they also make great groomsman gifts. Here are some I found on Etsy.

At QA Create's shop you can order customised typwriter cufflinks. You could use your grooms initials or maybe even the bride and groom, they are a steal at only $29.99 USD plus postage.





Over at Tiny Token Designs they make personalised hand stamped cufflinks. You can put your names, wedding date or phrase on the cufflink, its totally up to you! They cost $70 USD plus postage.

Menswear Spring/Summer 2010
I am a lover of gorgeous suits. A well tailored suit made of beautiful fabric can transform a man. It's more imporant than ever, on your wedding day, to have 'the' suit. It's likely a man will wear the suit he wears on his wedding day many times throughout his life (if he keeps tabs on his waist), whether it be a casual garden or a black tie suit.
I'm always a fan of the menswear spring/summer 2010 collections. The suits are phenominal and the men wearing the suits are even better! The embellished dinner jackets at Dolce & Gabbana were amazing. Sequins on a man never looked so sexy! I loved the bright oranges used at Trussardi, Emporio Armani and Bottega Veneta. Colour is a brave choice but it can wow. My standout suit was the black and white creation by Moschino. I don't honestly think a man could look any more suave if he tried. A brilliant take on the ever popular dinner suit. I also should point out Etro adorned their lapels with the most gorgeous fabric flower buttonholes. Made from the fabrics from the shirt, ties and bowties I thought they were a fab idea if wearing a real flower isn't really your style. Definitely a great way to add your own flair.
