Happy Friday everyone! This month's music mix is some of my current faves - along with some older ones. I think these could work for your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, or even just to play in the background when you are planning the big day :) I hope you enjoy the mix - oh, and how cute is that photo below? Canon in D. The Wedding March. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. With so many songs to choose, the task of choosing the right marriage and the law of the music of musicians for your big day can be overwhelming.
As you plan your wedding music, keep in mind these seven proposals to help make the walk of the aisle a harmonious:
Look at the table: Determine the best style of music used on the basis of the overall theme and your wedding. Is it traditional? Contemporary? Religious? Romantic? Fun? Not all of the music is good for all types of weddings.
Potential of the ceremony set to music in May include the prelude, the processional (you can select separate rooms for the wedding reception and the entrance of the bride), hymns and religious ceremony responses, the lighting the unity candle, recessional and the postlude.
You can add a voice to one of these pieces. If you're having trouble reducing your selections, you can always put some songs for the band or DJ to play at the reception rather than trying to fit everyone in the ceremony. If you marry in a place of worship, remember to get your selection list approved by the wedding coordinator or celebrant.
Not all musicians are created equal: Select musicians who are comfortable with your chosen style.
If your traditional ceremony, the way a string quartet? Contemporary? Maybe just a solo pianist, or perhaps a saxophone player. Religious? Check with the wedding coordinator at your site to get the names of the most sought after musicians on his list.
Does anyone in your family sing beautifully? Consider inviting them to sing for your wedding, to make the experience even more special. But remember, if you ask someone who is not a professional, you'll have to cut them some slack if they're not exactly perfect. You want your uncle could play the accordion, but be sure to find a song that fits your style and ability.
Seek advice - if you need it: If you are particular about your musical choices for the big event, you want to wait until May to reserve instrumentalists or singers that you have made your choice of music.
If you're not picky, and welcomes the help choosing music, hire professional musicians and trust their advice. They probably played for many weddings before, and have great song ideas.
Provide the necessary tools: Once you've finalized the song list and to reserve your wedding musicians, do not forget to provide the sheet music for the parts you have chosen. Working with the contact person at your place to hold a rehearsal session in the space before the event.
Trust your instincts: Bottom line - it's your wedding. Do not feel pressured to include a song just because Cousin Betty says you should.
All stressed out planning your wedding? You don't have enough hours in a day? In addition to working full time? Only weeks before the most "memorable day of your life". How will you get everything done? Besides you want to enjoy "your important day" and not be all stressed out. What can you do??
Well, keep up your regular exercise regime, either at home or by hitting the gym. A great Cardio, Pilates or yoga workout will really help in clearing your mind. Go for walks at lunchtime, and if you don't live too far away from your job, walk there instead of taking your car. Besides the exercise will help to keep your weight under control, so you'll look stunning in your beautiful gown.
Got some paper work to do ~ thank you's to write? Do it while listening to some good music. It will relieve the stress of planning. Or just sit in a comfortable chair, do nothing and listen to the lovely music. You'll be surprised how good you'll feel in a short time.
If wedding ceremony preparations are really causing you great problems and you don't know how much more you can take, plan on spending some time with good friends. Talking, laughing ~ just having a good time and forgetting about the wedding and all the stress it's causing you. Maybe going out for lunch, having a hot fudge sunday, bowling, Your plans will be in the back of of mind for awhile.
Why not visit a spa ~ pamper yourself with a relaxing facial or maybe get your hands and feet treated? Get a massage and you'll feel wonderful and very relaxed.
No matter how simple or lavish your wedding ceremony, remember to spend some time preparing yourself for "your great day!"
