Australiana Influences

Some of my favourite ideas for incorporating Australian themes into your wedding in Australia or abroad are:

1. Name the tables after Australian places, beaches, flowers, trees, animals, etc.

2. Serve Australian wine, beer and spirits (think bundaberg rum). Or give out mini-bottles as a favour.

3. Include an Australian cake theme or cake topper.

Sugar native flowers from the website sweetinspirations.com.au:

4. Include native Australian flowers in your bouquet or centerpieces.

  • Waratah
  • Banksia
  • Waxflower
  • Wattle
  • Boab
  • Grevilleas
  • Kanagroo Paw
  • Flannel Flower
  • Callistemons
  • Eriostemon
  • Saltbrush
  • Melaleuca
  • Sturt's Desert Pea

5. Burn Eucalyptus scented candles. Give out Eucalyptus scented hand lotion as a favour, or take a cue from Princess Mary and include Eucalyptus in
your bouquet.

For the Preppy Baby...

Love these prints from Made by Girl. A very cool, new way to display a child's name in his/her room. I think this would be a fantastic shower gift?

Make sure you check out her valentine cards, they're super cute.

Sylvia Weinstock Wedding Cakes

I feel like the past couple days I've been obsessed with cupcakes! A more modern take on the cupcake idea is the current trend with mini cakes. Mini cakes are great if you want to use them either as centrepieces, table decorations, or favours! The budget-conscious stylish brides will love the multiple uses they can get out of these hot little cakes!

these are ready to take home!

I was lucky enough to have dinner last night with a bunch of sorority sisters who are now living in Richmond. We had lots of fun remembering some of the trouble we got into in college and revisiting some highlights of our lives as delta gammas.

One of the attendees last night was looking for bridesmaids dresses for her wedding this summer. It’s going to be a casual affair and she is using navy and yellow are accent colors. She was having trouble finding bridesmaids options, so I put together a little lookbook of fun summer inspired dresses to fit her perfect preppy wedding!
